Fairtrade

Fairtrade is a global movement with a strong and active presence in the UK, represented by the Fairtrade Foundation.

Fairtrade is a movement for change that works directly with businesses, consumers and campaigners to make trade deliver for farmers and workers.

The international Fairtrade system represents the world’s largest and most recognised fair trade system.

Trinity is a Fairtrade Church, meaning that we only use Fairtrade tea and coffee after services and at meetings; we work at using other Fairtrade products; and we promote Fairtrade throughout the year and especially during Fairtrade Fortnight.

Since Traidcraft PLC went into administration, Transform Trade (who were completely separate from Traidcraft), have forged a path for ethical, cross-border trade.

While there is no Traidcraft shop anymore, Transform Trade and many other companies such as The Meaningful Chocolate Company, Divine Chocolate and The Ethical Supermarket, sell Traidcraft goods, so we are able to continue to use Fairtrade coffee and tea at Trinity and also continue to sell Traidcraft goods alongside our Eco Living products.

We also support the work of Transform Trade by holding their Big Brew Coffee Mornings to help raise much needed funds.
