On Saturday our Pilots company spent some time learning about the important work of Wimbledon Foodbank. They heard about the reasons that people in their local area might be going hungry and what they could do to help.
We then all went to the local supermarket to buy some much needed essentials – rice, pasta, biscuits, squash and lunchbox treats – trying to make a small budget stretch as far as possible and managing to buy over 15kg of food, which will be enough to feed two people for three days. Our thanks for Lilian for telling us all about the Foodbank.
If you want to support Wimbledon Foodbank you can drop off items in the Old Hall every Sunday after worship.
