Members of the Christmas Tree Festival planning group were invited to visit London’s Air Ambulance helipad on Monday 1 April. Above the 17th floor of the Royal London Hospital, the helipad affords fantastic 360 degree views of London. We were fortunate to have the most perfect day for our visit – bright sunshine and blue sky. We were able to have a good look at the helicopter and spent well over an hour visiting and hearing more about the charity. Ali Wade, their volunteer who came and spoke to the congregation on Advent Sunday about London’s Air Ambulance was also there to greet us. Before we left, the helicopter went out to make room for a helicopter from one of counties surrounding London to come in and deliver a patient – so we’ve got a good selection of photos!
